ON A WHITE HALLOWEEN

Jack and Gill first met on October 29th, 2011 at a Halloween party during sophomore year of college.

For the visual, Jack went as a (very on-brand) Lumberjack, and Gill + her crew were “the Holidays,” and she went as Thanksgiving.

The local news dubbed that night Snowtober as a Nor’Easter blew through Philly, creating a freak snowstorm that brought with it 6 inches of snow for an unprecedented “white Halloween.”

Always the smoothest in the game, Jack gave Gill his coat while they were outside watching the snow fall, and was convinced Gill was joking when she told him her name.

The night was filled with banter and beers, and by the wee hours of the party they were both smitten, which was soon confirmed when Jack asked Gill to marry him on night #1…

“Ask again tomorrow,” Gill teased – which quickly became a long running inside joke, culminating in the most epic comedic callback (over a decade later) in Jack’s proposal to Gill in NYC on May 21st, 2022.
